  • Support will also be given to any other hospitals who need assistance throughout the year

• We support parents who have lost a baby by operating a phone line and email account to give them referrals to support groups, therapists or to put them in touch with other parents who have had a similar loss

• In 2012 we will distribute 10,000 OC Walk to Remember brochures into the community in hopes that any parent who has lost a baby will know where to turn for help

• The 2011 OC Walk to Remember 5K Walk and Memorial Service had nearly 1900 participants and was run almost completely by volunteers

• The funds from the OC Walk to Remember have been used to:

  • Purchase memory boxes so parents forever have memories of their child.

  • Provide bereavement training for nurses, so they are better able to help parents who are experiencing a loss.

  • Establish libraries of bereavement books at all local hospitals.

  • Supply hospitals with a camera and photo printer, so parents have photos of their child.

  • Provide music therapy for mothers who are carrying a terminally ill baby.

  • Allow support groups to hold reunions, buy Mother's Day gifts for moms who have lost a child, purchase books and supplies, and more.

The OC Walk to Remember is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2004 that supports parents who have lost a baby in pregnancy or infancy. The mission of the OC Walk to Remember is to raise money for local organizations that support parents who have experienced miscarriage, pregnancy loss, or infant loss of any kind, as well as be a resource center for parents, doctors, nurses, hospitals, support groups, and anyone in need of support or information.
